WISE office roles

There are numerous roles within WISE offices. Some of these might be of interest to you.

Customer Service Officers (CSO) are the first point of face-to-face, telephone or email contact at our offices. CSOs use their communication skills to assist, inform and direct jobseekers, employers, government departments and other people or organisations who contact the business. CSOs respond to general enquiries and also provide administrative support to the Business Manager and their site.

Employment Consultants (EC) and Candidate Officers assess jobseekers' abilities and help them into suitable and sustainable employment or training. Employment Consultants and Candidate Officers refer jobseekers to other professional services where appropriate and provide post-placement support. This role involves personal commitment to improving jobseekers' employability and their ability to sustain employment. The Employment Consultant and Candidate Officer must be able to determine and prioritise appropriate learning and lifestyle intervention strategies, and undertake administrative tasks including data input, writing reports and detailed case notes, and other compliance tasks.

Employment Liaison Officers (ELO) help create employment opportunities for jobseekers. Employment Liaison Officers engage, build and maintain strong relationships with prospective employers. They find vacancies through their networks and they use communication and marketing skills to reverse market jobseekers to employers for new jobs that may not have previously existed. Employment Liaison Officers work closely with Employment Consultants to address any concerns about an employee’s new job. The Employment Liaison Officer role has a large administration component and claiming process with strict contractual obligations.

Business Managers (BM) are responsible for all aspects of running a WISE site office, including people management, financial performance, market awareness, business development, partnerships, strategic focus and operational planning. Business Managers have a strong understanding of their local labour market and use their initiative, innovation and strategic planning to increase employment and training pathways for jobseekers.
