WISE Employment’s job fairs in Palmerston NT, Dandenong VIC, Parramatta NSW and Liverpool NSW during September and October 2015 have again brought together employers and job seekers with the goal of creating more jobs for locals.
Darwin kicked of Job Fairs 2015 with the jobactive WISE Employment Palmerston Job Fair on 23 September, coinciding with the official opening of the WISE Palmerston jobactive office.

Job seekers and employers from across Darwin attended. Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, and employers said they were were very impressed with the calibre of candidates that they met. Candidates were shortlisted for interviews with employers on the day, and a number of placements have already been made.
WISE forged valuable new partnerships with local employers. New connections were also made with Darwin's Aboriginal community, organisations and employers with Indigenous employment strategies.

The same enthusiastic spirit of creating local jobs for local people extended to the (DES and jobactive combined) WISE Employment Dandenong Job Fair in Victoria on 7 October, as well as both the (DES and jobactive combined) WISE Employment Parramatta Job Fair, and (DES) WISE Employment Liverpool Job Fair in New South Wales on 14 October.

The jobs board at Dandenong Job Fair attracted lots of interest
The Liverpool Job Fair, hosted by DES (Disability Employment Services), saw more than 90 job seekers from Liverpool, Bankstown, Cabramatta and Fairfield arriving to meet 10 employers. Over 20 interviews were organised with employers in attendance on the day for a variety of roles. There were also many impromptu interviews and pre-screenings for future roles. After four hours of meeting and greeting potential employees and having lunch with the local WISE Employment staff, employers were each issued with a certificate and gift of appreciation to conclude the day.

There was plenty of positivity with employers commenting on how well run and enjoyable it was to participate in the Job Fairs, and many clients stating how great it was to see multiple employers who were interested in hearing about their skills together in one location.
