Access Keys
Most browsers support jumping
to specific links by typing keys defined on the web site.
Windows users can navigate with the accesskey feature by typing
ALT+Accesskey. On the Mac, you would use CTRL+Accesskey (not
COMMAND+Accesskey, which can produce undesired effects). Internet
Explorer users may also need to hit the enter
key to activate a link
All pages on this site define the following
access keys:
Access key h - Home page
Access key j - Job Seekers
Access key d - Education
Access key c - Community
Access key n - Enterprises
Access key u - Contact Us
Access key b - About Us
Access key i - Site Map
Access key w - Work at WISE
Access key p - Publications
Access key f - Clean Force
Access key l - ELS
Access key t - Education and Training
Access key a - Accessibility
Access key k - Skip Navigation
Menus at the foot of each page have a single
letter underlined that corresponds to the keyboard shortcut
for that item. Since many users will be familiar with this
convention, we can use it to indicate the accesskey assignment
for a link. By underlining a single letter and setting it
as a link element's accesskey attribute, users will know which
accesskeys correspond with each link
Standards Compliance
All pages on this site are Bobby
AAA approved, complying with all
the Bobby guidelines. This is always a judgement call;
many accessibility features can be measured, but many can
not. We have reviewed all the guidelines and believe that
all these pages are in compliance. For example, click here
to check the validation on this URL: http://www.cleanforce.com.au/WISEWEB/Template-Job-Seekers.htm
All pages on this site is WCAG AAA approved,
complying wih
all priority 1, 2, and 3 guidelines of the
W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. Again, this
is a judgement call; many guidelines are intentionally vague
and can not be tested automatically. We have reviewed all
the guidelines and believe that all these pages are in compliance.
All pages on this site validate
as XHTML 1.0 Strict. This is not a judgement call; a program
can determine with 100% accuracy whether a page is valid XHTML.
For example, check
the template page for XHTML validity.
Navigation Aid
The site will contain a Search Page.
Links
Many links have title attributes which
describe the link in greater detail, unless the text of the
link already fully describes the target
Images
All content images used in this site include
descriptive ALT attributes. Purely decorative graphics include
null ALT attributes.
Text Size
This site uses only relative font sizes,
compatible with the user-specified "text size" option
in visual browsers.
Skip Navigation
Each page on the site contains a "skip
navigation" link. Choosing this link moves the user directly
to the main content of the page, bypassing the long list of
navigational links which appears on every page. This permits
faster and easier navigation for those using screen readers
or for anyone using the keyboard rather than a mouse to navigate
the site.
Visual Design
This site uses cascading style sheets
for visual layout..
If your browser or browsing device does not
support stylesheets at all, the content of each page is still
readable.
