WISE Newport – Full Steam Ahead
WISE Newport was excited to be a sponsor of the Williamstown Festival, which was held on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 March 2009.

Site manager Shindar Dhillon believed that the festival was a great opportunity for the Newport staff to get out and about in their local community.

“We had the opportunity to set up a stall at the festival and so we were able to talk to people from our local community about our services and how we might be able to assist them,” said Shindar.

“We provide a cost-free service, both for job seekers and employers and so our staff were on hand to answer any questions from potential job seekers, as well as local employers who might be looking for staff.”

“It was great to know that many of the people who dropped by the stall, already knew of us and the services that we provide.”


WISE Werribee sponsors the Weerama Festival

WISE Werribee was a proud sponsor of the Weerama festival in 2009 for the third year running.

The festival, which was held on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 March 2009, started with a torchlight procession, which symbolised the strength, unity and courage of the local CFA volunteer fire fighters and emergency services crew.

Area Manager Donna Tairua believes that it is really important for the staff at Werribee to know the local community that they operate in.

“It was a fantastic festival again this year and staff has the opportunity to meet and network with people from the local community,” said Donna

“We also sponsored the fireworks at the festival and so it was a really fun way to take part in the event – with the last firework of the night spelling out ‘WISE Employment’.”


WISE Victoria takes part in National Careers and Employment Expo

The National Careers and Employment Expo took place in Victoria at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre over the weekend of Friday 27 and Saturday 28 March.

Community Liaison Officer, Kylie Devers believes that the expo is a great opportunity for WISE to network with job seekers, as well as potential employers who were also exhibiting.

“We had eighteen staff members from across all regions of Victoria available at the expo to answer any questions from job seekers who attended,” said Kylie.

“It was a great opportunity to network with many new potential employers and continue to strengthen the relationships with employers we have worked with in the past,” said Kylie.
