The KISS Project is open for referrals!
WISE Employment is proud to be a sponsor of the KISS Project, providing funding to support a Program Manager, through the WISE Community Investment Division.
After months of planning and preparation, the KISS project is up and running and open for referrals.
The project will work with local ‘at risk’ young people in the Broadmeadows area, exploring issues of reconciliation, violence, love and hope, through the creation of an adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.
Newly appointed program manager Sarah Pant, believes that the program will provide a space for creative expression and a chance for young people to communicate about their experiences and the needs of their communities, whether they be Indigenous, Torres Strait Islander or from other ethnic backgrounds.
“It will be an opportunity for young people to explore drama and story-telling in a safe and welcoming environment,” she said.
“They will be able to experience all aspects of theatre production including drama, set and costume design and theatre management.”
The young people involved in the project will also be supported in exploring educational and employment opportunities according to their interests.
The group is free of charge and open to young people of all abilities aged 15-25. Young people can register for the project by contacting Sarah at E Qubed on 0437 962 162 or sarah.pant@equbed.org.au.
