WISE move for the Koorie Night Market
Celebrating and promoting Indigenous arts, culture and business.
WISE Employment is proud to be a major partner of the Koorie Night Market, providing $71,000 funding to support two part-time Market Coordinators, through the WISE Community Investment Division.
The Koorie Night Market provides a unique opportunity to purchase authentic locally made Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander products and meet local community members in a welcoming festival atmosphere.
The next Koorie Night Market will be held on Saturday 5 December at the Northcote Town Hall.
Visitors will enjoy performances by Liz Cavanagh, Kutcha Edwards, Jarrah Acoustic and the ‘Koori Youth Will Shake Spears’ Aboriginal Dance Group.
WISE Employment’s Community Investment Manager, David Christian, said the Koorie Night Market is a wonderful initiative that showcases Indigenous talent.
“We are proud to be supporting the Market and hope that it provides an opportunity for many Indigenous people start small businesses,” he says. “It’s a great opportunity for the community to work together.”
Other project partners include Darebin Council, DATSICC, Darebin Enterprise Centre Ltd and stallholders.
