WISE Employment Tasmania is a state sponsor of the Gearing Up Expo, which showcases services available for people with a disability in Tasmania.

The statewide event which takes place in Launceston, Hobart, Devonport and Burnie will help people with a disability connect with resources, employment and training within their local community.

With offices in Launceston, Hobart and Devonport, WISE will have an information stall at each of these expos.

The first of the Gearing Up expos took place on Tuesday 7 April in Launceston, where WISE was awarded the ‘people’s choice best stall’ award.

Launceston Employment Consultant, Courtney Mungai helped coordinate the WISE stand and said it was very popular.

“The feedback was very positive and we have been able to make contact with a lot of job seekers with a disability that we wouldn’t have otherwise.” She said many people already knew about WISE and were able to find out more about the services that are available.

This is the third year WISE Launceston had a stall at the expo. WISE Devonport will be at the North West Expo on 12 May and WISE Hobart will be at the Southern Expo on 9 July.
