Looking for a Job
Looking for a job can be difficult and it is worth using any help available. All WISE offices have access to the national data base, Job Search Australia, which displays thousands of jobs all over Australia.

Tips on Where and How to look for a job include:

Networking

Talk to your family, friends, acquaintances and past work colleagues - let them know that you are looking for work and to keep an eye out for you.

Newspapers
Positions are advertised regularly in newspapers especially on Wednesday and Saturday. Most local newspapers also advertise vacancies.

Employment Agencies
Most employment agencies are listed under Employment Services in the Yellow Pages. Many specialise in specific industries such as IT, Customer Service, Call Centres, Industrial or Clerical.

The Internet
Many recruitment agencies and employers have vacancies listed on the Internet. Job vacancies that are listed on the touch screens at Centrelink offices are updated every 2 minutes

Centrelink Offices
Jobsearch Australia touch screens update every 2 minutes with 1000's of jobs listed Australia wide.

Direct Approach
Write a letter, telephone or approach a company personally. There may not be a position available but it might open up doors in the future.
